How much does a move in Belgrade cost? What the price depends on
Why two moves of the same two-bedroom flat can cost very differently – and how to know the price in advance.
The question we hear most is “how much does it cost to move a two-bedroom flat?”. The honest answer: it depends. Two flats of the same size can hold very different amounts of furniture; one can be on the third floor without a lift, the other on the ground floor. So it helps to understand what the price is really made of.
1. The amount of items, not the square metres
The size of the flat is only a rough guide. What defines the job is how much space your belongings take in the vehicle and how much there is to carry. A corner sofa, a three-door wardrobe and forty boxes of books are not the same as a minimally furnished flat of the same size.
That is why our calculator lets you pick specific items – sofa, bed, fridge, boxes – and calculates the volume automatically.
2. Vehicle: van or truck
A van is enough for smaller moves, bigger ones need a truck. A truck costs more to dispatch and per kilometre, but often saves time because everything goes in one trip instead of two or three.
3. Floor and lift
Carrying without a lift is the most demanding part of any move. The higher the floor, the more time and effort it takes, so the price increases by a percentage. The opposite is also true: if the building has a lift that fits the furniture, the move is faster. The floor is counted separately for the pickup and the delivery address.
4. Distance
Mileage is calculated along the real route from address to address. Within Belgrade it is usually a smaller part of the price, while for intercity moves it becomes a bigger item.
5. Assembly, disassembly and special items
Wardrobes, beds and corner sofas often have to be taken apart to leave the flat and reassembled at the new address. This is charged per piece. TVs, mirrors and computers need extra protection, and pianos, safes and storage heaters have their own price because of their weight.
6. Packing
Packing yourself saves money. If you leave it to us, labour per box and materials are charged – three-layer, five-layer or wardrobe boxes for clothes on hangers.
How to make your move cheaper
- Get rid of things you no longer need before the move – fewer items means less volume.
- Pack small items yourself and label the boxes clearly.
- Book the building lift for moving day, if there is one.
- Arrange parking in front of the entrance – shorter carrying is faster carrying.
- If possible, choose a weekday.
The fastest way to get an estimate is our calculator: choose your items, enter the addresses and get an itemised quote right after sending your request.
